RE/VISIONIST is an online publication created by students of the Sarah Lawrence College Women’s History Graduate Program. In the interest of fostering dialogue, RE/VISIONIST aims to promote a critical analysis of history and contemporary issues through the lens of multiple feminisms. We focus on the intersections of lived realities and histories, such as the experiences related to race, class, gender, sexuality, age, and ability. We strive to keep the question, “Who gets to write history?” on the table.
Feature articles should be between 750-1500 words, however we are more concerned with meaningful content, so there is some flexibility with word count. If you are interested in making a submission to RE/VISIONIST, please send a CV and 100-word proposal to firstname.lastname@example.org.
You may include the full article as well if you like. Articles may address a wide range of topics including, but not limited to, history, gender, race, class, sexuality, age, ability, religion, human rights, pop culture, art, and music.
Although we work within an academic realm as students at Sarah Lawrence, we encourage thoughtful submissions from varied viewpoints and experiences. While we request a CV, we do not discriminate based on education or previous experience in academia or journalism. RE/VISIONIST aims to foster an open and inclusive forum with a multitude of perspectives and opinions. In other words, we want to hear from you!
We at RE/VISIONIST aim to be a forum for dialogue, debate, and a genuine exchange of ideas. That said, we support the maintaining of a safer space for a discussion free of racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, and other oppressions. We do not tolerate comments that ascribe to any of the discriminatory language or ideas that fall under this umbrella.
